Message from The King's Crown
IN NOMINE JESU CHRISTI
I am trusting Thee, Lord Jesus,
Trusting only Thee;
Trusting Thee for full salvation,

Great and free.
   Who can you trust? "Would you buy a used car from that man?" "I don’t know if I trust him/her." This world of ours is built on trust. We trust our parents to take care of us. We trust our spouses to remain true to us. We trust our government to protect and defend us. Business depends on the trustworthy payment of bills and delivery of merchandise.
   But how many times are we disappointed? How many times is our trust found to be misplaced? Parents too often think only of themselves. Spouses too often are untrue. Despite valiant and continuing efforts, our government simply cannot prevent every act of evil that is attempted against our nation. We need only say "Sears", "Volkswagen", "Solyndra" etc. to see that trust in the business world is too often abused.

   The Bible says "Do not put your trust in princes, in mortal men who cannot save. When their spirit departs they return to the ground; on that very day their plans come to nothing." (Psalm 146:3-4) In other words, trusting in people brings guaranteed disappointment. That’s because we are all sinners, powerless in ourselves to counteract the evil of our natures and the wiles of the devil. Who can you trust? Trust Jesus!

"He upholds the cause of the oppressed and gives food to the hungry. The Lord sets prisoners free, the Lord gives sight to the blind, the Lord lifts up those who are bowed down, the Lord loves the righteous. The Lord watches over the alien and sustains the widow, but He frustrates the way of the wicked." (Psalm 146:7-9)

October 2017 is the 500th Anniversary month of the Reformation of the Christian Church instituted by Martin Luther and his fellow reformers of the 16th century. This is a great time to sharpen our trust in God. Luther writes of the trust that will not fail in his great baptism text found in "To Jordan Came the Christ, Our Lord" (LSB 406), "All that the mortal eye beholds is water as we pour it. Before the eye of faith unfolds the power of Jesus’ merit. For here it sees the crimson flood to all our ills bring healing; the wonders of His precious blood the love of God revealing, assuring His own pardon."

Friend, trust Jesus. He’s the only one who has power to heal you, strengthen you, forgive you, and give you eternal life. His plans cannot be thwarted by time or men. He stands at your door today and knocks. Won’t you let Him in? He can be trusted implicitly. He will lead you into all the truth by encouraging you to worship in His Father’s House. He will forgive and empower you to forgive in your life by giving you Himself, His very body and blood in the Lord’s Supper. He will be with you in every disappointment. Trust Jesus and let Him give you power to Tell the Good News about Jesus to others by the conduct of your life. See you in Worship.

God Bless you. Pastor Loewe.
