Message from The King's Crown IN NOMINE JESU CHRISTI One thing about gratitude—it doesn’t last very long! This world and we people in it are always looking for greater and better results. "That was yesterday. What have you done for me lately?" is the world’s self-centered theme. But that’s the world—not us! As God’s people of Christ the King we are given every grace and blessing in Christ Jesus our Lord. Just think about what God gives us: absolute and total forgiveness in the blood of Christ, a robe of Jesus’ own righteousness, resurrection life that lasts forever, and power to truly be thankful and keep focused on what is truly important. What better and greater results could there possibly be? Read on. God has been very good to His CTK people in 2017. Look about you to see all the wonderful improvements we’ve made. A brand new roof that will keep us warm and dry for decades. Brand new air handlers and furnaces to keep us comfortable as we do Christ’s work all year around. Our digital sign is a bright and colorful invitation to all the community to participate in the Gospel, to know Jesus Christ. And so many things we see that are the result of the good hard service of our Board of Property and many volunteers. Thank God! Our current ministries for Jesus are also being mightily blessed. Our worship together features God’s pure Word of grace, His holy sacraments, and the great voices of CTK praising God each week. Recent weeks have seen many great events and mission emphases. Free Food Distribution, Road pick up, Operation Christmas Child, Trunk or Treat, and the ongoing Christian Education of our Bible classes, catechism, and Sunday School. We have Thanksgiving and new opportunities to help those in need in our neighborhood and at the Toledo Gospel Rescue Mission. Our namesake Christ the King Sunday and a brand new Church Year with Advent and Christmas including our CTK Family Christmas December 13. This year we are having a family meal and fund raiser for our Capital improvements. And each month our homebound folks are visited and communed and remain a vital part of our ministry for Christ together. Are we thankful to God for these? Or are we purposely dissatisfied and picking on one another? Dear friends, we are not like the world. We have God on our side! Please, continue to be faithful in worship, praise, and thanksgiving to Him. He gives us the power—let’s use it for the sake of Jesus. Happy Thanksgiving. God bless you. Pastor Loewe.
