May | Pastor Loewe's Message

5/2/2017

Message from The King's Crown
IN NOMINE JESU CHRISTI
This Joyful Eastertide Away with sin and sorrow! My love, the Crucified, Has sprung to life this morrow: Had Christ, who once was slain, Not burst His three day prison, Our faith had been in vain: But now has Christ arisen, arisen, arisen; But now has Christ arisen!
The entire Merry Month of May is within the joyful Eastertide of the Church. Jesus our Lord and Savior is risen from death and is with us in Body and Soul in His Word and in His Body and Blood in the Lord’s Supper each week. Pentecost and the season of the Holy Spirit growing His Church in Christ begins June 4. It is good that we have resurrection and new life in Christ for us to consider for an entire month.
The Spring time highlights new life. We plant and water and nourish our spring flowers. Big plans are made for various garden spots for our vegetables and decorative plantings. And what joy there is in watching the progress as the tender shoots of springtime burst into vigorous growth through the upcoming weeks.

That’s a model for us in our Christian lives. How are you progressing? Are you regular in your attendance in hearing the Gospel, confessing your sins and receiving total forgiveness, and partaking of the Lord’s Supper? Or are you just a little bit slack in that regard, focusing your attention on those things that are passing away? Yes, we are all busy people! Busy with the things of this world, family gatherings, proms, vacations coming up, and just plain earning a living.

Yet, like a tender Spring time planting, care and attention are required for a good result. God planted His Word and Salvation into your heart on your Baptism day, He gave you the gift of the Holy Spirit. That Spirit cries out with you,
"Abba! Father!" God, your Father, truly desires to be with you always, to hear from you often–every day, and to see you with your Christian family in the Divine Services of His House right here at CTK. He provides the perfect medium for your Christian growth and for you to thrive. He also gives you 24 hours a day and 7 days a week for you to fully participate in all His wonderful of family and work and leisure. Use the time wisely, dear friend!

Our risen Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is yet at work in this world. He comes to you in His Word and His Sacrament every week here at CTK. His Body and Blood provide all the nourishment you need for you to grow and thrive and, best of all, to use all His gifts in this world to His glory and honor.
In Christ, rooted firmly in the medium of His Word, you will find the time to do all things. You will, never say,
"I’m sure glad that I skipped church and hearing Jesus Christ all those Sunday mornings or Saturday evenings!" Use the Resurrection Life God gives you to throw off "death’s flood" and tap into the Living Water ever flowing within you.

Blessed Eastertide! Pastor Loewe
