WELCOME! Today we celebrate Independence for our nation. It is right to thank God for this freedom. Yet, our freedom in Christ is what gives us real celebration. We find ourselves with Jeremiah and a time of desperation and defeat for Judah and Jerusalem. God places Jeremiah His prophet to call the leaders and people to repentance and to acknowledge the Lordship of God. God’s Word is not always what we want to hear. We find that being a Christian does not bring us peace the way the world defines it. But this should not bring us dismay. Instead, like Jeremiah, we hear God’s Word first, we take up our crosses and follow Jesus in whom we have total forgiveness and eternal life. We "gladly hear God’s Word proclaimed among us and follow its directing." We follow by Holy Spirit power in the Word of Christ, even though it’s not always easy nor does that Word always say what we like. Yet, ever and again, we have the steadfast love and faithfulness of God. He is the One who protects His people and in whom we have Joy forever.
Christ is working at Christ the King - Come join us!
