 WELCOME! This week we continue the revelation of Jesus Christ, Messiah and Lord in the glorious texts of the Old Testament with a very real and precious fact about God’s Word. It never fails! As Robert Burns so rightly observes regarding human projects, "The best laid plans o’ mice and men aft gang agley." But God’s Word–God’s Word of Christ Jesus–will never fail. Listen to God’s Word in Isaiah 55: "For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return there but water the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall me my word that comes from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it." That "thing" is salvation in Christ and real growth in His Word. Humble yourself in the repentance of faith. Hear His Word of life for you and receive His Body and Blood for forgiveness and strength.
