2.12.17 | Divine Service

WELCOME! This week at CTKBedford, Jesus continues His magnificent Sermon on the Mount. The genius of Jesus Christ, as True God and True Man, His complete understanding of the being and will of the Father, is demonstrated in His handling of God’s Commandments. For God, there are no excuses. It is either all or nothing at all. Our habit, as sinners in a sinful world is to mitigate, to minimize the demands of the Law. Most frequently we simply ignore those parts of Holy Scripture that do not comport with our own judgements and lifestyles. But God never grades on the curve. He demands perfection. If perfection is missed, "If your right eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away..." So how are we to be saved? Since we are all sinners and cannot avoid sinning even with the best effort and intentions? Rely on the salvation work and being of Christ Jesus our Lord! Baptized into His death and resurrection, partaking of His Body and Blood, we are now forgiven and free to do God’s will. Thanks be to God!
