WELCOME! TODAY IS TRANSFIGURATION SUNDAY. We transition into Lent and the great contemplation of our need for repentance and faith on Ash Wednesday, February 14. But today we continue to shine forth the glory of Jesus Christ as True God and Christ. On the mount of Transfiguration Jesus has high and holy conversation with Moses and Elijah. All the Law and the Prophets are met to speak of the upcoming suffering, death, and, most important, the Resurrection of Jesus Christ from death. On the mount of Transfiguration Jesus shines with the glory that is His by right as the Son of God and Word made flesh. He gives the disciples a foretaste of Easter and resurrection life. Peter, stunned and terrified, says, "Tis good, Lord, to be here." And it IS good to be here at CTK in the presence of our risen Savior and Lord Jesus Christ in Word and Sacrament. SDG
