"The beginning of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God." That’s how the Evangelist Mark begins his account of Jesus Christ and the Salvation He brings. For Mark the "beginning" is the "voice of one crying in the wilderness: ‘Prepare the way of the Lord, make His paths straight." That voice is John the Baptist. He preaches and teaches and baptizes people from all the country of Judea and Jerusalem who come out into the wilderness to see and hear John. It is a baptism of "repentance for the forgiveness of sins." Jesus, the Son of God, comes to bring that forgiveness through His own obedience and sacrifice on the cross. We at CTK continue John’s proclamation of Jesus Christ. Now Salvation is an accomplished fact. We continue to urge folks to come and hear the Gospel and repent into the forgiveness and eternal life it brings. Friend, hear and believe the Gospel!
