WELCOME! This week we visit the most famous and stirring portion of Prophet Amos. "...Let justice roll down like waters, and righteousness like an ever flowing stream." The people of Israel are living under the delusion that their prosperity is a sign of God’s approval. They think that their perfunctory and meaningless sacrifices keep the Lord satisfied, even though they act unjustly and honor other gods. Sadly, this type of attitude and thought is still popular among us in the Church. Many believe that popularity and prosperity are what proves God’s love. But God’s first expectation is ever and always, "You shall have no other gods before Me." Amos teaches that grace and faith are the true basis for worship and right relationship to the Lord. "Come to Me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."
