Welcome! This week we celebrate All Saints Sunday. In keeping with our emphasis on the Gospel of Christ in the Old Testament we turn to Psalm 149. The honor of all the saints of God is that He chooses them out of the world to have faith in Jesus Christ and to believe His promises. In Psalm 149 joyous praise of God is interspersed with a call for God’s "vengeance" and "punishments" upon the ungodly. But, despite the mighty judgment of God against all unbelief and evil, He "adorns the humble with salvation." Dear friend, salvation is a pure gift of God. It is a covering, a clothing of righteousness given by a loving God. God takes pleasure in His people, not because of their own goodness. Rather, they rejoice in the free gift of faith. They rejoice in their King, who was bound and suffered the punishment due the nations. Now we have fellowship with Him in the Church. Happy All Saints Day!
