WELCOME! Today we return to Prophet Isaiah speaking the Word of the Lord as it came to him by Holy Spirit power. In beautiful poetry Isaiah sings of God’s love for His people and how He cares for them. God sets His Vineyard, His people, in a place of maximum fruitfulness. He clears away the stones and rubble of sin and death in the Word and work of Jesus Christ. He builds up His Church, His vineyard by providing it with everything needed to produce a crop of righteousness in Christ our King. And He looks for a good crop of the finest grapes for the wine of gladness. Yet, how many times does He look and find not the fine and glorious grapes of holy love for God and neighbor, but the wild grapes of anger, selfishness, and even hatred for God and His Christ? God calls us to repent and believe the Good News of Christ our King. Hear His Word. Be filled with His righteousness in Word and in Sacrament. Thus we will bear much fruit to the glory of God.
