WELCOME! Today, once more, we go upon the mountain with Jesus and His disciples, for that is what we are, to hear Jesus Word of life and let Him teach us about the Kingdom of God. These are the "beatitudes" the blessings of God upon His dear people, the people who believe His promises in Christ. We see in these wonderful words the reality of God’s blessings in this world and in the next. Poverty of spirit, the mourning that is our lot in loving neighbors in this world, the humility of faith, the hunger and thirst for being right with God, the mercies that we are privileged to share, the heart made pure by the Holy Spirit in the Word of Christ, the peace of God that we own, and, yes, even the persecutions we suffer for the sake of Christ, all these are blessings today. As we live our live in Christ and focus on His grace and power and redemption, we are blessed beyond all earthly thought and know freedom and eternal life.
